Support Life Linc Nelson’s Governance Board
Life Linc Nelson has been serving Nelson for 50 years and we are looking to grow our governance board.
Life Linc Nelson is an NGO offering affordable face to face counselling for people who could not otherwise afford it. Counselling is provided by professionally trained counsellors and senior students in counselling studies, who volunteer their time and skills to Life Linc’s clients. We are able to offer some couples counselling, and are the only non private organization in Nelson and Marlborough who can do this. We have 13 counsellors who serve in Nelson, Richmond and Motueka. We are funded by donor agencies, local businesses and councils, and the proceeds from the Goodwill Shop. We employ three part time staff, an Operations Manager, Community Liaison Administrator and a Clinical Manager, who is an experienced counsellor. With 50 years of work in the Nelson region, we are seeking new board members to help support the organization.
We are looking for new board members who can bring passion to the role and may have experience in marketing or fundraising. Having a foundation in the community is also helpful as we look to the future of Life Linc Nelson. There are many opportunities for board members to engage with the organization and community throughout the year as suits their interests. The board meets bi-monthly to oversee the organization’s reporting and management. Board experience is not required, but is certainly helpful.
