Quiet Hour in Elma Turner Library
We are exciting to let you know you that the Quiet Hour will be resuming from 9.30-10.30am Tuesday 13 February at Elma Turner Library.
Quiet Hour is a time designed for people with different needs to visit, with the intention of making the library more welcoming and accessible for individuals who find loud, busy spaces challenging.
However, due to the strengthening work in Elma Turner Library from June 2022, we had to suspend Quiet Hour service.
Now, with Elma Tuner Library fully reopened, we are exciting to inform you that Quiet Hour will resume from Tuesday 13 February.
At the Quiet Hour, the lighting will be dimmed, noisy activities will be suspended, and sound will be minimised where possible to make the library space more accessible.
The families and carers of people with hypersensitive conditions can enjoy and access library resources with their loved ones in a quieter and more peaceful space.
The Quiet Hour will take place on Tuesday mornings, 9.30-10.30am from 13 February 2024.
