Introducing the Good Governance Board Service
We’re excited to share with you a new offering from Community Governance Aotearoa: the Good Governance Board Service.
As many of you will know, our not-for-profit organisations are facing significant challenges with a shortage of resources, time, and reduction in access to grants and longer-term funding. This means not-for-profits are under immense pressure while the demand for our services keeps growing.
Our response
We have developed the Good Governance Board Service package to deliver all-board governance best practice to not-for-profit boards that provides guidance and governance expertise over a six-month period.
We’ve set a goal of delivering this service to 100 not-for-profits and to do that we need your support!

Good Governance Board Service
The Good Governance Board service is a 6-month package that offers:
- tailored support from an expert governance leader.
- specific resources tailored for our not-for-profits.
- board evaluation service to assess and monitor progress.
The cost for a six-month Good Governance Board Service package is $10,000 per board.
The Good Governance Board Service is an extension of our national action plan “The Mentoring Service” and is part of the suite of governance programmes Community Governance Aotearoa offers.
We are asking local councils, community trusts and foundations, philanthropic trusts, government agencies and businesses to get behind this initiative by sponsoring one or more not-for-profit boards for this service.
How can you get involved?
Our not-for-profits do not have the financial means to invest in good governance facilitation, training or advice and we want to give equitable access to all not-for-profit boards.
