Year 11 students from Nayland College's Foundation Certificate seeking volunteering opportunities that will allow hands-on experience that contribute to the community. We have around 22 students, and they are a mixture of 15-16-year-olds. We would be open to doing a full class at the same time or we could individualise to the different students. During school hours would be best but we can work around this if we need to. We can have 2 or 3 teachers there to support as well. Join us for a cup of tea along with some key speakers on climate change
Nelson City Council has released the draft Climate Change Strategy for the region and to support this will be running a community engagement from 10th March until 17th April. There will be several opportunities to engage with the climate change team at NCC. They will be based at Cultural Conversations, 123 Bridge Street every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (11am to 1pm) to answer any questions, receive feedback, share ideas on the strategy. This will be for the entire engagement period. They will also be hosting a number of talks at lunch time at Cultural Conversations, see schedule below.
