Nelson Community Health Lecture: Advances in Cancer Research
University of Otago Christchurch Mackenzie Cancer Research Group will present a FREE talk on Tuesday 5th November: Advances in cancer: Research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment. We’ll hear about novel preventative therapies for breast cancer, the role of vitamin C in cancer progress and therapy and exercise as treatment.
University of Otago Christchurch Mackenzie Cancer Research Group will present a series of FREE talks – Advances in cancer: Research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment:
Dr George Wiggins will talk about his work with a world-leading genetic consortium to investigate novel, non-invasive and easily accessible preventatives therapies for women at high-risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Professor Gabi Dachs will discuss her research into evidence for (and against) using vitamin C as an integral part of cancer treatment. Associate Professor Margaret Currie will detail an exercise programme that has improved quality of life and helped maintain or improve physical function for women receiving chemotherapy for early breast cancer. Registration recommended. It will also be available online via webinar. There will be an opportunity to mix and mingle with the researchers after the lecture, and ask any questions you may have. |
