Home Share for Her is growing in leaps and bounds

www.homeshareforher.nz has 20 home shares on offer across Nelson Tasman currently, with over 75 women looking for homes to share with other wāhine.

Women from all corners of Nelson Tasman have registered with Home Share for Her, wanting to share a home space with other women to share living costs and make social connections. Their interests and jobs range from gardening, to cooking, dress-making, to healthcare, the outdoors to martial arts, teaching to the arts. Some have pets and some have children, and some of the home offers welcome both. Some are just over 18 and others are as young as 84. Some new to New Zealand and Nelson and some who have lived here all their lives. Women who just want to get on with life, meet others who share their values and live in a peaceful space.

Our resource section will help you through the homeshare process, doing background checks and putting a lodging agreement together. Sharing could also take the form of sharing some chores in lieu of part or all of the lodging price – it is something home sharers can work out together as part of their sharing agreement. For personal safety, always meet in a public space first and only visit another person’s home, or welcome a person into yours, when you feel safe and comfortable doing so.
