Collective Impact Workshop – Belonging – the power of being accepted and valued in our community
Community-led development (CLD) aims to strengthen the vitality of local communities by activating and weaving the contributions of everyone connected to a place. When CLD is done well it generates a Collective Impact (CI) across the sector.

Inspiring Communities and Te Tauihu Community Development Agency, with support from Rātā Foundation present this workshop:
Belonging – the power of being accepted and valued in our community
Inspiring Communities and Te Tauihu Community Development Agency are partnering in offering this workshop in direct response to the 2024 Strengthening the Sector survey. It told us that “increasing the sense of belonging and inclusion in our community” was the issue respondents voted most for, to centre a collective impact initiative.
A CLD/CI approach actively seeks to inspire hope and find ways for each of us to take action across the multiple perspectives, places and peoples that make up Te Tauihu – Top of the South.
By being in partnership with Te Tauihu Community Development Agency for this workshop, this becomes a unique opportunity to join together with genuine belonging and connectedness in mind. All from our region are warmly invited.
This workshop will help you:
- Connect with others interested in CLD as an approach to create Collective Impact in your place as part of our region
- Enrich understanding of the impact ‘belonging’ can have – for practitioners in agencies as well as citizens in our communities
- Get creative about increasing our connectedness as agencies across the region
- Learn about building respectful relationships with mana whenua
- Understand and work with widening our community impact for improved wellbeing
- Generate ideas to include and encourage participation across the communities
