Counselling Manager wanted for Life Linc Nelson – to facilitate professional, affordable counselling services for those in need.

Local charity Life Linc Nelson has been serving the community with quality affordable counselling for over 20 years. Operations are run by our small team of three, including Operations Manager, Counselling Manager and Community Liaison Administrator. This is a 40 hour per fortnight position with flexible hours, rate of pay $30-$31, negotiable and includes;

Our service is delivered through a dedicated team of professional volunteer and student counsellors who work with couples and individuals.

As Counselling Manager, you will be responsible for the counselling service and its quality delivery, including:

  • Triage client referrals & assign to counsellors
  • Support and monitor professional standards in the team
  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with educational providers
  • Co-ordinate induction and ongoing training and support for volunteers and students
  • Manage student recruitment and assessments
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure relevant policies and procedures are up to date
  • Fulfil the role as the Privacy Officer, ensuring confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times
  • Fulfil the role of Child Protection Lead
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are communicated and met

You will need to demonstrate the following skills (amongst others):

  • Excellent people & organisational skills
  • Relevant knowledge of counselling/therapy theories and application
  • Experience working as a counsellor
  • Ability to work in a team, and uphold clear and professional boundaries
