Year 11 students from Nayland College's Foundation Certificate seeking volunteering opportunities that will allow hands-on experience that contribute to the community. We have around 22 students, and they are a mixture of 15-16-year-olds. We would be open to doing a full class at the same time or we could individualise to the different students. During school hours would be best but we can work around this if we need to. We can have 2 or 3 teachers there to support as well. Abbeyfield Information Seminar – being involved in a steering committee and what it entails
Attend this seminar to find out about being on an Abbeyfield steering committee and being part of providing housing solutions for older people.
We are hosting an information session for people that might be interested in being on a steering committee that would support the process to establish an Abbeyfield complex in the Nelson area and/or potentially Tasman.
Abbeyfield complexes offer a great housing solution for older people to live independently, stay connected, and receive good support.
The first stage for a new development is to set up a steering committee. The committee will explore options and support things to happen.
The committee would benefit from people that are can do, have nous, and come with backgrounds that usefully lend themselves to an Abbeyfield project.
This seminar is designed to provide information on the role of a steering committee.
No hooks, no expectations. Come along and hear more.
