We warmly invite you to a gathering of like-minded women to share our story and find out how you can support an initiative that is making a real difference in the lives of women in our Nelson Tasman region. The event will be held on 9 September from 5.30pm at The Boathouse, Nelson

THE EVENT: Support Women’s Housing Through Home Share for Her. We warmly invite you to a gathering of like-minded women to share our story and find out how you can support an initiative that is making a real difference in the lives of women in our Nelson Tasman region.

Home Share for Her is a free service, made possible through grants, donations, and the generosity of people like you.  At this event, we’re seeking support from potential sponsors and donors to help us:

• Promote our service
• Maintain and grow our website
• Run regular meet-up events
• Offer guidance and resources to our members

Come along to celebrate what we’ve achieved so far, learn more about how your support can grow our impact—and enjoy an evening with other women who care about making a difference.

Home Share for Her connects women with homes, to women who are looking for housing and supports them to establish an affordable, safe, secure, medium to long-term tenancy. Women living alone often experience loneliness, financial insecurity, and difficulty with the practicalities of managing a large property. Home Share for Her is a free-to-use, safe and secure website for women to find information about homesharing and to connect with each other. It is the first service of its kind in New Zealand being piloted in the Nelson Tasman region. In the last year, our registrations have grown to hundreds of women connecting via our website and we have celebrated many women matching and moving into home shares. You will find success stories and links to our recent media on the news section of our website – www.homeshareforher.nz and on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/homeshareforher. We are not an emergency service, but hope to help reduce the pressure on the public housing system and contribute to revitalisation of the city by making better use of empty bedrooms within existing homes.
