Each month, Nelson Weekly publishes a 'Local Legend' feature sponsored by Nelson Auto Glass Specialists. A recipient is nominated by a member of the public and will receive a bunch of flowers and a $50 Pressy card - with a photo in the paper and a short article about the work that they do, and why they love it. All we need is their name, contact number, and a sentence or two about why you are nominating the person. The recipient needs to be nominated for something they have done in a voluntary capacity, be happy to share their story with the TSM team and have a photo taken with the sponsor. No matter how big or small the role, TSM would like to acknowledge the amazing people who live in our region and help make the world a better place. Please contact [email protected] for more information. Here is a link to the latest feature on pg. 16:https://nelsonapp.co.nz/editions/7dd48445-e5ef-479a-953d-37501facbaee

And for many in Te Tauihu’s for-purpose/community sector, the challenge is how to hold things together without losing your people, your energy, or your purpose.
This workshop is for anyone who’s:
-Reassessing their funding and service model
-Wanting to reduce the pressure without losing their kaupapa
-Curious about collaboration, new funding approaches, or doing things differently
What we’ll cover
This practical, half-day session will help you:
– Take stock of where you’re at — and where the real pressure points are
– Explore practical options to strengthen your financial and service sustainability
– Hear examples of how other organisations are adapting — and what’s working
– Understand different pathways (e.g. collaboration, changing service models, managing overheads)
Leave with tools to help you make informed, values-aligned decisions.
Want to go deeper? One-on-one support is available.
Following the workshop, free 1:1 mentoring is available to help you apply what you’ve learned to your own organisation. Whether you need help modelling options, making the case to your board, or just figuring out where to start — we’ve got your back.
