Year 11 students from Nayland College's Foundation Certificate seeking volunteering opportunities that will allow hands-on experience that contribute to the community. We have around 22 students, and they are a mixture of 15-16-year-olds. We would be open to doing a full class at the same time or we could individualise to the different students. During school hours would be best but we can work around this if we need to. We can have 2 or 3 teachers there to support as well. HomeShare for Her welcomes all women over the age of 18 (and service providers to women in our community) to a Community Korero session on Sunday 16 March 2-3pm, Rūma Mānuka (Activity Room) at Nelson’s Elma Turner Library. We will be discussing our service approach of connecting women to share homes and living costs in Nelson Tasman. HomeShare for Her is not an emergency service provider, but through our free online website, www.homeshareforher.nz, aims to help connect women homeowners with those seeking affordable housing (homeseekers). In doing so, HomeShare for Her hopes to take some of the pressure off public housing demand, help reduce isolation through social connection, and make the most of existing resources in the community.
We will demonstrate our website and also chat through any questions you bring.
You are welcome to RSVP to [email protected] or just turn up! We look forward to seeing you there.
