Year 11 students from Nayland College's Foundation Certificate seeking volunteering opportunities that will allow hands-on experience that contribute to the community. We have around 22 students, and they are a mixture of 15-16-year-olds. We would be open to doing a full class at the same time or we could individualise to the different students. During school hours would be best but we can work around this if we need to. We can have 2 or 3 teachers there to support as well. September marks ‘Wills Month’ in New Zealand, an annual prompt to create or update this all-important record of what you want to have happen when you die. Having an up-to-date Will gives you peace of mind that you have made the best plans possible for the people and causes you care about. You have made it easier for your family and friends to do the right thing when you die. Nelson Tasman Hospice are offering a variety of events for Wills Month this year.
Pitt & Moore Lawyers and Atkinson Crehan Law will host free community drop-in information sessions during Wills Month here at Nelson Tasman Hospice on Suffolk Road, so you can have some questions around writing a Will answered. You can go to one or both of these sessions, no registration necessary.
Wills Information Drop In Sessions –
• Pitt & Moore – Thurs 5th September 1-3pm
• Atkinson Crehan Law – Thurs 19th September 1-3pm
The team at Nelson Tasman Hospice will be offering small, guided tours through the Suffolk Road facility and garden before each of the drop-in sessions. If you’ve always wanted to know what we actually do and have a look around the facility.

• Thurs 19th September 11:30 am and 12:00 pm
The Nelson Tasman Hospice education team are offering a free workshop about Advance Care Planning (ACP). Many people find it difficult to talk about dying. Like birth, it is a stage that benefits from planning and discussion, this is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family. ACP includes sections like “what matters to me”, “what worries me” and “if I’m unable to make decisions, I’d prefer them to be made like this”. This is a free event open to the community but with limited seats.
