Women Revolutionising Housing Hui–Advancing affordable, sustainable, community-focused housing
A women-led hui reimagining affordable, sustainable, community-focused housing. Together we’ll share knowledge, strategies, and inspiration. On Friday afternoon-evening, key stakeholders and housing role players are welcomed to join conversations shaping women-led housing development and solutions that prioritise women and family wellbeing.
Join us for a transformative three-day gathering about reimagining housing and creating community-led solutions. The Women Revolutionising Housing Hui is a not-for-profit event bringing together diverse voices to share ideas, projects, and strategies that challenge the current housing system and nurture new possibilities.
The programme highlights include inspirational presentations on successful projects and models, skills building workshops, panel discussion with housing and community leaders, participatory sessions for creating strategy, creative activities, shared meals of nourishing kai, and an improvisational Playback theatre performance by Tell Tales Collective, bringing women’s lived housing experiences to life.
Topics that could or will be explored include:Housing affordability, collective/cohousing models, natural and sustainable building, strategy and advocacy for reframing housing as a human right, climate resilience in neighbourhood design, Māori and Indigenous housing models, enabling legal/financial systems, housing that specifically meets women’s needs, partnerships, permaculture design, community engagement and participatory processes, urban and rural design and density solutions, renewable and circular energy, water, waste systems for housing.
The whole event is for women but on Friday afternoon-evening, key stakeholders and housing role players (men included) are invited to join conversations shaping women-led housing development and solutions that prioritise women and family wellbeing.
Whether you’re an experienced change-maker, a housing professional or just beginning to explore what’s possible, this hui is a chance to contribute, learn, and be uplifted by a vibrant community of women leading the way in housing transformation.
