Nelson North Community Transport Pilot – all go!
The transport pilot will run initially for ten weeks:
Tuesday 19 August 2025 – first service
Saturday 25 October 2025 – last service
Pricing
All seats are $3 one-way per person (regardless of age).
Children 10-13 years can be accompanied by a sibling 14+years or an adult.

All bookings need to be made in advance of the service and are open from 7 August 2025 via ph: 03 528-6543. We encourage people to book and pay for 10-trips and make a bank transfer (to avoid merchant fees when paying by debit/credit card).
A big thank you to everyone who has participated in the Nelson North – New Community Transport Survey. Your feedback combined with our new team of Volunteer Drivers has meant we can now offer the Nelson North Pilot Service Timetable. Days the transport services will operate include; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Nelson North Pilot Service Timetable
Please help us to communicate the timetable (attached) via your communication channels. The timetable shows some of the major stops along the route. Our Volunteer Drivers will pick-up or drop-off passengers at designated bus stops. However, the bus can stop anywhere along the route by prior arrangement, and only where it is safe to do so. Please arrange this at your time of booking.
A big shout out to Bowater Toyota for sponsoring the Toyota Hiace minibus over the 10 week pilot. This generous sponsorship plus the support of Nelson City Council (NCC) has enabled the Nelson Tasman Community Transport Trust (NTCTT) to bring the community transport pilot to Nelson North.

Bikes
We have two new lock-up areas for bikes located at the Nelson North Country Club and Atawhai Community Church. We can also carry up to three (3) bikes with the vehicle. Again book this when you book your seat on the bus.
Our intention after the ten week pilot is to review the patronage and service offering. If there is strong community demand and continued support from our lovely team of Volunteer Drivers, we will look to run a full 12 month service in Nelson North. If you’re keen to see the transport services continue past the pilot, please contact us today to become a Volunteer Driver we will need a bigger pool of motivated generous people to make this work.
