Need a volunteer

Does your not-for-profit organisation need a volunteer? Whether it’s for short term or ongoing volunteer opportunities, we have people ready to help.  If your organisation is not currently registered with us, please get in touch with our staff so that we can discuss adding it to the system. Once we have registered your organisation, you will be able to set up a user account, then list and manage volunteer roles and referrals.  Please give us a call on (03) 546 7681 or e-mail us at admin@volunteernelson.org.nz

Nelson Connects is a new initiative at Volunteer Nelson for those who are sixty plus in age. People in this age group are frequently thinking about retirement or have already retired from paid work. Some of the most amazing people in the world have dyslexia… could you be one of them?

This free 12 week course will help you to manage your dyslexia at work. Read faster and understand more. Get on top of paperwork. Impress others with your writing skills. Work to your strengths. Meet other dyslexics and be inspired.

It goes from 29 August to 31 October. It’s on Tuesday nights from 6pm to 9pm.

Youth in Emergency Services (YES) Programme

This is an opportunity for young people to experience what it is like to be a volunteer in the emergency services. The programme is for 16 – 20 yr olds and will runs from February until June. Click here to find out more.
