Need a volunteer

Does your not-for-profit organisation need a volunteer? Whether it’s for short term or ongoing volunteer opportunities, we have people ready to help.  If your organisation is not currently registered with us, please get in touch with our staff so that we can discuss adding it to the system. Once we have registered your organisation, you will be able to set up a user account, then list and manage volunteer roles and referrals.  Please give us a call on (03) 546 7681 or e-mail us at admin@volunteernelson.org.nz

Nelson Connects - Active Seniors Project

Nelson Connects is a new initiative at Volunteer Nelson for those who are sixty plus in age. People in this age group are frequently thinking about retirement or have already retired from paid work. Youth and Emergency Services - Tasman

Youth in Emergency Services (YES) Tasman 2017 – applications now open.

This is an opportunity for young people based in the Tasman region to experience what it is like to be a volunteer in the emergency services. The programme is for 16 – 19 yr olds and will run from March until June. Click here to find out more.

 

 

Tasman Leaders Programme 2017

We are giving the opportunity for people aged 17-24 years living in Tasman to study for a free Level 3 qualification in Youth Work. If you’re thinking of a career working with young people, or are currently volunteering with young people, come along to one of the information sessions to find out if this course is for you. Second Hand Office Furniture Available From Nelson City Council For Local Community Groups

Nelson City Council has some used office furniture that is surplus to requirements and is making it available for free to local community groups. Some office chairs, desks and filing cabinets are avialable and there may be some shelves.

If your community group is interested in viewing what is available please email administration.support@ncc.govt.nz to arrange a time to view, or if you have any other related queries. Furniture will be available to view between 30th of January and the 3rd of February. Nelson City Council will deliver the furniture to your organisation.Read More
