Volunteer English Language Home Tutor

Do you want to become an English Language Volunteer Home Tutor to former Refugees and Migrants? English Language Partners’ mission is to provide English language skills and social support for effective resettlement of adult refugees and migrants in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our next Tutor Training course starts 8th August.

For many of our learners, Volunteer Home Tutors are an important part of their lives. Our learners have a range of English levels and needs. Some have virtually no English at all, others go on to study at NMIT or find work. Our Home Tutors spend 1-2 hours per week in their learners’ homes providing them not only with language instruction but also fun, safe social interaction. Our volunteers find it extremely rewarding. Learners and volunteers are carefully matched to ensure successful learning outcomes.

Our next 8-session training course starts 8th August (attendance at all 8 sessions is required). It will provide you with a solid understanding of everything you’ll need to enjoy your time as a home tutor.
