Challenge Day Community Workshop
First time ever in Aotearoa! Join all community members interested in making a change in our schools and communities with rangatahi. ‘Challenge Day’ and the ‘Be The Change Workshop’ addresses social issues such as bullying, violence, mental health, self esteem and peer pressure with youth and adults.
Run for over 35 years in The USA, all provinces in Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany as well as parts of Africa and India. The ‘Be the Change Workshop’ is for adults in our community and supplements ‘Challenge Day’.
The co founders, Rich and Yvonne Dutra-Saint John will be here to run this workshop. Together they have back grounds in teaching, clinical psychology and program design for youth in the justice system, mental health, schools and with refugees.
The program is designed to change the culture of a school or workplace using restorative practices and is hugely empathy based as well as interactive. Adults will get a chance to experience this professional development on May 1st whilst the Broadgreen students and volunteers from the community will experience Challenge Day on May 2nd and 3rd.
Come and be part of a much needed change in our schools and communities here for the first time ever. The goal is for this program to spread nationally!
