Erika & CoCo Flash are bringing their Rainbow Storytime and Living Library sessions to Nelson! Rainbow Storytime is a chance to hear books about acceptance, diversity, inclusion and being kind, play some fun games and meet some fabulous drag queens with plenty of colours and glitter! Open to children of all ages. Living Library is designed around learning about how the duo became Erika & Coco, how they identify and is a chance to ask any questions you have about the LGBTQIA+ community.
Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth is our local branch of Diabetes NZ. We support children and teenagers with diabetes (primarily type 1) and their families from Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough. We provide support, education, connection and safe activities for our members.
The first ever Sneaker Friday takes place on Friday 19 November! This is an exciting new fundraising event encouraging New Zealanders to Step Up for Diabetes New Zealand during Diabetes Action Month and all New Zealanders are invited to participate.
Simply donate $5 to Diabetes NZ to wear your sneakers to work on Sneaker Friday – or get your workplace to donate $5 per employee as a donation to Diabetes NZ.
You can also join Sneaker Friday as a team with your colleagues. Simply head to the givealittle website, click participate, select “as part of a team” and follow the instructions. Anyone is welcome to join Team Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth, any funds raised in our region stay in our region to help children and teenagers with diabetes and their whanau from Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough.
Our mission is to support all New Zealanders to live well with diabetes, but we can’t do this without the help of generous, supportive and helpful Kiwis like you. So kick the work shoes off and put your sneakers on!
