Erika & CoCo Flash are bringing their Rainbow Storytime and Living Library sessions to Nelson!
Rainbow Storytime is a chance to hear books about acceptance, diversity, inclusion and being kind, play some fun games and meet some fabulous drag queens with plenty of colours and glitter! Open to children of all ages.
Living Library is designed around learning about how the duo became Erika & Coco, how they identify and is a chance to ask any questions you have about the LGBTQIA+ community.
Adopt an Artist
A community building art project meeting at the Nelson library learning room for four consecutive Wednesdays (beginning 28/7) between 10am & 1pm to help the driving artist and make connections. Some sewing machine skill desirable.
This is an art project which aims to explore thoughts around existence and how we as humans reach out, searching endlessly for meaningful connections with others, beyond cultural boundaries, gender, race, age or beliefs. It looks with joy at our ability of selfless acts, with no expectation of recognition, that we extend to strangers and people we may never meet.
Born in isolation, this work has evolved to become a community effort, directed by the artist but made in the connections and stories shared while making.
