If you are lacking motivation to cook/prepare better quality meals for yourself; need to top up your kitchen skills and confidence, then this course may be the one for you
FREE Cooking Classes for Seniors, Mondays 10am – 1pm, 14 June – 5th July, Richmond venue. 4 weeks duration. Each 3 hour session will comprise a one hour nutrition module learning about meal planning, understanding food labels, portion control, stretching your budget, etc. A recipe will be demo’d and you will then cook a couple of recipes from the 50 page cookbook that you can take home. We all sit down and eat lunch together.
You will be required to attend all 4 sessions and we can work around any future medical appointments you may have. The socialisation factor is a real bonus and we keep this going with a cafe meetup following on from the end of the course. This programme is aimed at you if you are lacking motivation to prepare healthy meals for yourself; if you would like more skills in the kitchen and if you have a need to improve your confidence. It is not just a place to get new ideas for your meals.
Your tutor is a trained Home Economics teacher, a qualified and experienced chef and former owner of an a la carte restaurant in Nelson, who loves to teach.
