A vacancy exists for an independent Support Manager a dynamic, challenging and rewarding role, supporting members to manage day-to-day activities with reporting and budgeting oversight. Permanent position 30 hours per week. Includes oversight and support of peer support workers.

The White House, based in Nelson, is a peer led day support centre run by and for users of mental health services. They now have an amazing opportunity for an independent Support Manager to work collaboratively and effectively with Members and Governance with the aim of protecting The White House Inc. Society goals, membership and constitution.
This part-time role of 30 hours a week plays a key support role to members encouraging and supporting them to manage the day to day activities of the house with a focus on continuing to develop members’ skills and capabilities and the value of their contribution. Supported by an experienced and committed Governance Committee you will also work hard to ensure that the governance, legislative, health and safety and business aspects of the operation are managed effectively.
This dynamic and rewarding role is an exciting opportunity for someone with an education, health or social work background. You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to connect, enable and develop those around you. Through previous work or personal experience, you’ll recognise the value in supporting and developing members to ensure that they are able to maximise their contribution to The White House. An understanding of mental health support provision would be an advantage although training and mentoring support will be provided as required.
To really add value in this role you’ll have excellent communication skills, great organisational skills, a good dose of business savvy and the flexibility and adaptability to change your priorities across the day and keep your eye on the end goal.
