The Pop-Up Library is an interactive installation that will appear at various locations and events across the Tasman District. Essentially, it’s role is to take the library to the people.

From the Pop-Up Library, you can sign up for and renew memberships, borrow books from the Pop-Up collection and get help accessing the free Library e-Resources. It’s also a place where you can learn about the free services and events that are on offer at Tasman District Library branches, such as the Book a Librarian service and the various children’s and young adults’ programmes.

Libraries Manager Glennis Coote says, “We are excited to announce the launch of our new Pop-Up Library initiative. The Pop-Up Library will be a great way to deliver library services out amongst our wider community and let people know about the facilities we offer”. Lucy Carver, Community Engagement & Outreach Specialist says, “We’re looking forward to surprising people with the quirky Pop-Up stand in places they do not traditionally expect to see a library. Come along and discover what’s on at your local library branch, be it a digital drop-in session, job-seeker support classes or family history resources.”

The Pop-Up Library will be appearing at Children’s Day at the Richmond Aquatic Centre (7th March) and The Big Tiny House Expo (21st & 28th March). Its free and everyone is welcome to check it out.
