Nelson has busy summer season of cruise arrivals and Port Nelson is on the hunt for Nelson Ambassador’s to direct and answer any questions from passengers. As well as share anecdotes and stories of our region.
Port Nelson has a busy summer season of cruise ships arriving and many passengers descending on Nelson and surrounding areas. Our busiest day will be January 26 when we have for the first time two cruises on the same day bring over 2000 people to the region of which 1000 will remain in Nelson City.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the meet and greet of passengers both shipside and in the town centre. Volunteers who will be given a Port Nelson Cruise Volunteer T-Shirt will act as a welcoming team, informative tour and directional guides- answering passenger questions and letting them know what’s on.
The Port puts on a number of free coaches for passengers to the city and back so there is an opportunity for some volunteers to be present on buses and/ or welcoming at the bus stops as well.
We are looking for about 6-10 volunteers for the season of cruises on the dates below.
