Community Ambassadors Wanted for Casual Summer Employment

Are you easy-going, fun and good at making people feel welcome? Do you have experience and qualifications working with young people or in related fields (health, social work, events)?

Youth and Community Works are seeking motivated, enthusiastic people to join our team for summer.

Youth and Community Works are the contract managers for regional Street and Freedom Camping Ambassador services and are seeking applications from people passionate about our region to join our team.

We offer living wage for youth workers with experience, pathways to Youth Work qualifications and a fun, supportive team environment. Positions are casual, and for a fixed term between December 2019 – March 2020.

The role(s) involve:
>Positively engaging with all sectors of the community as well as specifically supporting young people.

>Building rapport and acting as Ambassadors by delivering positive self-care/health messages, communicating information about Council bylaws/prohibitions, along with tips on responsible camping, emergency procedures, events, and volunteering opportunities.

>Working collaboratively with service stakeholders and users to prevent anti-social behavior, reduce harm and minimize the negative impact that freedom camping creates on the environment.

>Undertaking training – All staff will need to attend our Induction Training programme (Wednesday 27 November)
