At the CAN forum, speaker Peeni Henare mentioned the Prime Minister’s vision of a country where everyone is “earning, learning, caring or volunteering”, & stressed that it was important to support youth volunteering. One way to do this is by supporting Collaborate: https://www.letscollaborate.co.nz/
This is an inclusive Public Art Project open to all residents of the Nelson Tasman region. We invite artists of all ages and abilities to submit designs which if selected will be made into large format street flags to fly in Nelson City.
On behalf of Nelson City Council, Arts Council Nelson is thrilled to invite artists and designers (of any age) from the Nelson region to submit design proposals for this exciting project.
The aim is to brighten up the city streets by creating 80 uniquely designed flags for display between major events, which will add diversity, colour and spectacularly showcase local art in our smart little city.
We seek a diverse range of designs which are colourful, interesting, positive and fun. We would like to see this project showcase the diversity of our communities and welcome images from all ages, walks of life and ability so that we can select 80 final designs to create the flags.
Each selected artist will receive $300 for allowing Nelson City Council to use their image for this purpose.
The last day for receiving entries is 23 September 2019
Selected entrants will be advised by 30 September
Flags will fly in November!
Please note that there are specific size requirements so make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions of entry, attached and also available at: http://www.acn.org.nz/art-flags-project.html
