The New Zealand Biosecurity Awards recognise and celebrate people across New Zealand who are doing their bit for biosecurity – in our communities, businesses, government and backyards. This could be through engaging in innovation, science, community or leadership that supports New Zealand biosecurity. If you, your organisation, staff member or volunteer has initiated or been involved with a programme, protocol or one-off event that focuses on biosecurity, we want to celebrate this. The work being done by our biosecurity team of 4.7 million every day is important to us – our lifestyles, livelihoods and our unique environment depend on it. These awards are our way of saying thanks for the great work people all over New Zealand are doing in biosecurity every day.
Would you like to help out at our school fair? We would love volunteers to help us. Tasks could include:
- Food preparation in the hot food tent – making up the food orders, cooking sausages etc.
- Helping us to be Zero Waste by supporting Waste No More at their washing up station.
- Helping us to be Zero Waste by advising people on which bin their waste goes in (e.g. recycling, compostables, food waste, landfill)
- Looking after and feeding/offering drinks to the other people running stalls
If you’d like to know more about the Fair, check out https://www.facebook.com/HopeSchoolCountryFair and ‘Like’ our page.
Volunteers will be expected to arrive at 9.30am to be briefed on their roles.
