Are you in a role where you’re constantly juggling priorities? Do you have a workable schedule until you have to manage interruptions and put out other people’s fires? Do you work more hours than you’re supposed to because there’s always something more that needs to be done?
New Zealand is an amazing country to live in to the credit of its leaders, people, community involvement and the tremendous effort of volunteers – people who give of their time, energy, compassion, care and effort.
Thank you to all of you who put forward nominations for The Car Company Community Champions Awards in June in celebration of National Volunteer Week (#NVW2019). We know it is very difficult to choose exceptional volunteers when so many do such great work. Although the challenge was tough, and the nominations were numerous, we did manage to select four. The rest will remain in the pot as we select more community champions over the coming months. All your efforts and the efforts of your volunteers are very much appreciated by our community – thank you again! If there is any way we can help you with your particular volunteering needs or support challenges, please let us know how – visit www.volunteernelson.org.nz/contact/ or call us on 03 546 7681.
Congratulations to the four winning nominations during NVW2019 – Emani Soane of the Nelson Tasman Pasifika Community Trust, Jerri Pirc of Habitat for Humanity Restore, Chrissy Fern of the NZ Blind Foundation and Murray Rogers who volunteers for Red Cross. Look out for their stories on Facebook and on our www.volunteernelson.org.nz blog (under About/Volunteer Nelson News). Thank you once again to The Car Company for sponsoring Volunteer Nelson’s volunteer recognition programme this year.
Nominate a volunteer!
If you have an exceptional volunteer in mind and did not have the chance to nominate them during National Volunteer Week, you are still welcome to complete an online nomination form and we’ll put your nomination into the pot!
