Are you part of a group that is passionate about engaging people with our biodiversity in some way; and passionate about inspiring others to take action to conserve it??
It’s Conservation Week again this September, and DOC would love you to organize and event or activity during that time. The overall theme is ‘Let’s create change for our taonga’. Like last year, we want to ensure ‘taonga’ includes flora, fauna, freshwater, and marine species. It’s deliberately broad, so everyone can apply that to their own places.
It’s also 50 years since the Scouts began the first Conservation Week, so that’s another milestone to celebrate. Fifty years of action to inspire us for the next 50.

Ideas: pest trap building workshops, family fun days, planting days, public talks or lectures, stream or water restoration, beach clean ups …. whatever you can dream up that celebrated conservation of our biodiversity.
