In celebration of Nelsons first test match with the All Blacks and Argentina on September 8th we are throwing a street party and market in the CBD from 1-5.30pm. We are welcoming up to 10 community groups to join us with a free stall to showcase your projects and raise awareness to Nelson and the world. Please contact me ASAP to book a place [email protected]
Dear Community groups,
On the 8th of September we are welcoming the local stalls, community groups and shops to break out of your winter blues and buildings and join us with a stall on Trafalgar St from 1 -5.30pm for a fantastic street party. We are creating a space that highlights the fantastic flavours and creativity found in Nelson and celebrate the history of Rugby in NZ. The CBD Game day street party will be encouraging people to come to town early and will run a lineup of entertainment from 1 until 5.30pm in time for people to head toward the park for a 7.30 kick off. There are 22,000 tickets available so there will be a lot of people around for the day and the weekend and it would be great to have the community groups and businesses of Nelson be a part of the celebrations!
I am looking for local community groups, artisans and food vendors to celebrate our region and its incredible produce and diversity. The stalls have been priced at $80 for food stalls, $50 for craft stalls and free for community groups and the shops in town.
Power will be very limited so if you are able to run off your own power/gas that is advisable.
We have arranged the streets to be vibrant and colourful; noisy and fun and will have an Argentinian area, entertainment stage and other entertainment roaming the streets, a kids area with activities and face painting and all celebrating the first game of rugby played in NZ and more. If you would like to be included in a certain area especially the Argentinian area please indicate this in the application form.
If you are keen to be involved please let me know asap. I have attached an application form for the event. Please fill it in in Microsoft Word, save and attach it to your email including scans of your current certificates and power requirements.
Here is a link to the event for more information…
I look forward to hearing from you asap and having another great event in Nelson!
