Tea & Talk is held in four separate locations across the Nelson Tasman Region: Nelson City, Victory Square, Richmond and Golden Bay. It provides the opportunity for those aged 65+ years to get together for a weekly cup of tea and a chat. Morning tea is provided and the cost is only $3. All Welcome!
The search is on for people who are wonderful neighbours or make their neighbourhood a nicer place to live. Neighbourhood Support Nelson is calling for nominations for its Neighbourhood Champion awards.
Do you have someone in your neighbourhood who deserves a pat on the back for making it a better place to live?
It may be that they make an effort to welcome new neighbours, or do practical things to help people in the neighbourhood. Or it may be that they organise neighbourhood BBQs, or galvanise people to tackle neighbourhood issues.
Well here’s your chance to acknowledge what they do. You can nominate them for the annual Neighbourhood Champion awards run by Neighbourhood Support Nelson. The awards are for individuals, couples, or groups of people who go that extra mile for their neighbours or make a difference to their neighbourhood.
To nominate someone fill out a nomination form at the Neighbourhood Support Nelson website nsnelson.org/about/stories-photos/or ph 546-4902 or email [email protected] to ask for a form to be posted to you. Nominations must be associated with neighbourhoods in the Nelson City Council boundaries.
Nominations close at 5pm on September 5 and the awards will be presented at the Neighbourhood Support Nelson AGM on September 18. Award winners will be presented with gift vouchers and certificates.
