NELSON & TASMAN STREET AMBASSADOR SERVICES 2017 - 2018The objectives of the Street Ambassador Service’s are to work towards making our town centre’s safer for all users and visitors. It is intended that this will be achieved by the Street Ambassadors being a friendly presence in the Nelson, Richmond, Motueka town centre’s by working with all sectors of the community as well as specifically supporting young people.
Nelson is one of the top three most ethnically diverse cities in NZ. Nelson Multicultural Council is offering you an opportunity to enhance and develop your skills in cross cultural interaction and communication. An opportunity to reflect on your own cultural understanding and practices.
For new New Zealanders, students, teachers, community groups, workplace.
After completing this training you will:
- Clearly understand the concepts and dimensions involved in intercultural communication
- Identify and value the relationship between effective intercultural communication in all areas
- Identify and develop strategies for more effective communication across cultural boundaries.
- Recognise yourself and others as having multicultural characteristics.
We also have full day courses, and can run a course for your community group.
