A new course aimed at helping people better prepare themselves for finding a job is to start in Motueka next month.

Work Fit, a free 10-week course run by Adult Learning Support, will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Motueka Community House, beginning on June 20.

It covers all the key skills needed to find work, including setting career goals, creating a cv, staying calm and confident in an interview, and using computers and email to contact employers.

Other optional topics covered will include legal rights when looking for work, getting fit and healthy, problem solving at work and driver licence theory.

The course can be tailored so that those who take part receive NCEA Unit Standards for their time on it.

It’s the second time the course has been offered this year, although this is the first time it’s been run in Motueka.
