The Multicultural New Zealand, New Zealand Human Rights Commission, Independent Police Conduct Authority and Hui E have partnered to hold a series of youth workshops nationally, and with support of Nelson Multicultural Council and New Zealand Newcomers network. The purpose of these workshops are to explore some of the barriers youth face when accessing social services particularly when they require assistance. The workshops will provide a positive environment to interact, discuss these issues and mutually educate and inform. We look forward to welcoming you and hope the fun day activity will strengthen our engagement with youth from Maori, Pacific and Ethnic communities including those with former refugee and migrant backgrounds.
Thanks to funding support from The Tindall Foundation, the NZ Youth Mentoring Network is pleased to offer a special one day workshop on the recently published 2nd edition of the Guide to Safe and Effective Practice in Youth Mentoring Aotearoa NZ.
The Guide offers practical advice and guidance on how best to provide high-quality mentoring in day-to-day operations. The one day workshop will:
- Introduce the Guide so that you can easily use it back in your work.
- Build awareness of effective and safe practice in youth mentoring.
- Meet with others in your region, learn together, and build stronger regional networks.
Who should attend?
Youth workers, educators, mentors, mentor programme providers, central and local government agency staff and community workers.
There is a small registration fee of $35 inclusive GST to cover catering costs. You will also receive a copy of the Guide and a comprehensive workbook to take back to work with you.
