Red Cross Refugee Resettlement in Nelson
We pleased to welcome two new families into Nelson on the First of May. Karen Russell, our new Volunteer Coordinator is now in full swing preparing for the new arrivals. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers who have offered to support these families in their first 3-6 months of resettlement
Can you help former refugees be confident in the water?
We are looking for a few trained volunteers who are keen to help out with swimming sessions one evening a month. No swimming tutoring experience required, but you do need to be confident in the water. This will be a fun opportunity to help our former refugees living in Nelson to become more confident in the water. The sessions will be led by ASB Aquatic Centre tutors in Richmond, but we still need a few volunteers to jump in the water to assist. If you are interested to find out more, please contact me via phone or email (see below).
