Purple Cake Day Turns Five!

Purple Cake Day is Friday 20th March, but you can choose any day to celebrate and fundraise, supporting children’s education. Community groups / businesses can: wear purple, sell purple cupcakes or food, run purple boot camp or purple yoga. Anything goes!

Click www.purplecakeday.org for posters, recipes, project information and more.

Purple Cake Day is back on Friday 20th March. And yes, our colourful, fun-filled Nelson charity is about to begin its fifth year.

  • Five years of ‘Kids Helping Kids’
  • Five years of nurturing compassion, generosity and leadership in our own children
  • Five years of helping disadvantaged children in Haiti, Nepal and Kenya with education opportunities that change their lives.
  • Five years of our community supporting this fun creative event

This years theme is ‘Education is a Human Right – Education is Hope”. The Global Day of Action is on Friday March 20th, but if this doesn’t suit you can choose any day to celebrate and fundraise. It’s fun and easy to get involved and you really make a difference.

What do we do on Purple Cake Day? Nelson community groups and businesses have come up with so many ideas: wear something purple, decorate your office or business in purple, donation boxes, purple lunches, bake and sell cupcakes for morning tea, fundraise at boot camp, run a purple yoga class, running a triathlon in purple!
