Call for Volunteers for the Refinery ArtSpace

Arts Council Nelson is implementing a varied and interesting programme of exhibitions and events at the Refinery Community ArtSpace over the next two years. Like many community based initiatives, the success of the programme will rely on a great team of volunteers.

We wish to build a database of people who are willing to give pockets of time, either on a regular or occasional basis. These may be two to three hour slots or even longer, depending on individual’s availability [Monday – Friday 10am – 2pm, Saturday 10am – 2pm and event/evening hours] Do contact Ann if you are keen on joining the team or have any queries at

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE REFINERY ARTSPACE [RAS]

ACN is implementing a varied and interesting programme of exhibitions and events at RAS over the next two years. Like many community based initiatives, the success of the programme will rely on a great team of volunteers.
The roles of volunteers will vary, as will the level of commitment they are able to offer. However roles will largely be based around the following activities:

* Front of house duties: Greeting visitors, handling enquiries and sales
* Assisting with exhibition/events set up
* Assisting with administration and maintenance tasks relevant to events

In recognition of the valuable contribution from volunteers, ACN will endeavor to provide:

* a professional supportive work experience opportunity
* a friendly, safe and positive work environment
* training for volunteers where applicable
* acknowledgement and testimonials as and where appropriate
* immediate and appropriate actions to redress any disputes or complaints

We wish to build a database of people who are willing to give pockets of time, either on a regular or occasional basis. These may be two to three hour slots or even longer, depending on individual’s availability.

Refinery ArtSpace hours: Monday – Friday from 10am – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 2pm. Event and performances might be out of these regular hours, usually after 5pm.

The volunteers will be supported and trained by the appointed Manager of the Refinery ArtSpace, in the interim by Ann Braunsteiner, executive board member of Arts Council Nelson.
