International Volunteer Day 5 December

Volunteer Nelson is holding an event at the Elma Turner Public Library on Halifax St, Nelson to celebrate International Volunteer Day. Please help us get the word out to volunteers everywhere.

Anyone who has ever volunteered anywhere is warmly invited to call in to the Activity Room, tell us about your volunteering and claim your reward.  The event is on Thursday 5 December from 10 am to 1.30 pm.  Call in any time between those hours.
If you manage volunteers and would like resources like thank you certificate templates, then check out the Volunteering NZ website.

International Volunteer Day (IV Day), held on 5 December, is annually organised internationally by the United Nations. The celebration is to acknowledge and congratulate all volunteers in communities for the work they do.

This is a chance for community organisations to promote the contributions the volunteers make in our communities on a local, national and international level. Volunteers are the backbone of our society and thanks to their dedication and commitment our communities are significantly stronger.
The theme for this year is “Tu meke Koutou Maa!” which translates to “Thanks to Aotearoa’s Volunteers”.
