Get Moving Retro Fun Ride, A Fundraising Event for the Great Taste Trail – 2 Nov

Come and celebrate cycling – dress up in a retro theme or just come for a ride around the scenic bike paths of Stoke. Starting and finishing at The Honest Lawyer, the Get Moving Retro Fun Ride promises to be a great cycling event.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the marshaling of the ride. If you are interested, please contact Belinda via email: retrofunride@outlook.com. Lunch will be provided!

The Get Moving Retro Fun Ride is a participation event for all bike riders to have fun on their bikes and celebrate cycling.  The event also aims to raise funds for the Great Taste Trail, a true asset for the Nelson Tasman region.

Starting at the Honest Lawyer in Monaco the ride is an approximately 10km loop of the Stoke bike paths, first heading south along the coastal route to Orphanage Stream, then heading north along the railway reserve towards the WOWmuseum.  Riders will then cross under the underpass and head south back to The Honest Lawyer.

Fancy dress and bike decoration with a vintage/retro theme is encouraged with prizes for the most dapper chap, dashing dame and fabulous family.   The rider who completes the ride somewhere between 45min – 1hr 30min will win the Stoke New World Mystery Time spot prize.

Come early to get your bike checked by mechanics for free at the Big Bike Tune Up
.  You can alsohone your riding skills prior to the ride at the Get Moving Skills Trailer

At the end of the ride the Honest Lawyer will host a BBQ at the Point which is a family friendly grassy area – a great place to relax after the ride.  However you may not sit down for long as there are lots of other things to do:

·        Check out the entries for the Great Taste Trail Bike Rack competition

Try the latest in electric bicycles

·        Get a bike tattoo

·        Get your photo taken with your bike in the photo booth

Bring or buy your Great Taste Trail Passport and get it stamped
