Sports Tasman – Thank a Sport Maker

You can show your appreciation for the Sport Makers in Nelson/Tasman, who referee, coach, balance the books or help cook the sausages for the fundraising BBQ, by sending a thank you e-card http://thanks.lottovolunteers.co.nz/. If the Sport Maker accepts their nomination they go in the monthly draws to win up to $500 of sport’s gear.


Sport volunteers, or Sport Makers, are the lifeblood of New Zealand sport. Over 750,000 Sport Makers give 50 million hours of their time annually to keep our world class sport system humming.
Sport Tasman is at the heart of a campaign between Sport New Zealand and the Lotto Volunteer Foundation to ‘Thank a Sport Maker’ which recognises the thousands of sport volunteers who make sport happen in communities across the Top of the South.
How to Nominate your Volunteer
All volunteers, regardless of their roles or the sport they are involved in, are eligible to be nominated for recognition as a volunteer.

Monthly Draws
1. Sport Makers, who receive a thank you e-card and accept their nomination, will be entered into a Lotto /Sport NZ monthly draw to win $500 worth of Lotto merchandise for them or their team, including balls, bags, training gear, first aid kits, cones, caps and clothing. Nationally there will be 34 winners every month, with at least two winners from the Top of the South Island.

2. In addition Sport Tasman will also be holding a separate monthly draw. SportMakers, who have accepted their nomination, will  be entered into a separate Sport Tasman monthly draw. 4 Sportmakers, one from Buller, Kaikoura, Marlborough and Nelson/Tasman, will be randomly selected to win $100 worth of Lotto merchandise for them or their team, including balls, bags, training gear, first aid kits, cones, caps and clothing.
