World Immunisation Week – 24 April -1 May

This year World Immunisation Week runs from 24 April to 1 May and is a World Health Organization event. In New Zealand we celebrate it with community events and media activities to get people talking about immunisation.

Around the country district health boards organised clinics, community events and displays will promote immunisation. It’s the best way to protect babies from preventable diseases.

This is especially important as New Zealand has had recent outbreaks of Whooping Cough and Measeals.  To find out more visit  immunisation at www.health.govt.nz or www.immune.org.nz
