 Autism Workshop “Inclusions for Students on the Autism Spectrum” 

We are pleased to advise that we will be offering the Workshop “Inclusions for Students on the Autism
Spectrum” presented by our specialist consultant Celeste Littek
(M Ed; PG.Dip-ST; Dip.T)   

This course is ideal for Parents/Carers, Family/Whanau,Teachers (Early Childhood, Primary or
Secondary), Teacher Aides/Educational Support Workers, Specialists and Service
Providers, any one working or living with a child or young person who is on the
Autism Spectrum.

COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:      

  • Making sense: Introduction to the Autism Spectrum
    (including Aspergers), a different way of thinking, sensing and being in
    the world
  • Teaching to Strengths: Practical strategies to help
    learning, extend interests and build participation
  • Practical ideas and strategies including Social Stories
    supporting understanding, learning, communication and social inclusion.
  • Sorting Challenges: taking a positive approach to
    behaviour

When: 9.30 am to 3.30 pm Thursday 5th March 2015

Where: Halifax Centre, Impact Church, 16–18 Halifax Street, Nelson

Cost: $35 per person (including GST) Morning Tea included
